LIBRARY SERVICES

NOTARY SERVICE

The Wallington Library has a Notary on staff. Patrons are asked to call the Library at (973) 471-1692 before coming in to ensure the Notary is available. Appointments are highly recommended.

Before you arrive at the library make sure of the following:

  • DO NOT sign or date any of the documents. The Notary needs to witness your signature. Any documents that are already signed and/or dated will not be notarized.

  • Be sure to bring a valid photo ID with signature. A current state-issued driver’s license or passport is recommended.

  • If a document requires a witness or witnesses, the patron will need to bring the witness(es) to the notary appointment. The witness(es) will need to provide valid proof of identification. The Library does not provide witnesses and the Notary does not act as witness for documents.

The Library’s Notary does not interpret or explain documents needing to be notarized. The Notary reserves the right to decline service for certain types of documents. In accordance with New Jersey Notarial Law, the Library’s Notary reserves the right to decline service if the document(s), identification, or circumstances of the request raise any issues of authenticity, ambiguity, or doubt  for the Notary.

Notary service is free of charge. Patrons utilizing the service are invited to make a donation to the Library.
